Counselor FAQs

Q: I submitted the student’s information. Why does it still show as missing?
A: Counselors should verify that the correct Social Security number was entered. If an incorrect SSN was used, the student must submit a copy of their Social Security card for verification.

Q: If a student’s GPA changes after grades have been submitted, can it be updated?
A: Yes. Counselors must log into MAAPP to update the student’s GPA.

Q: We have a new Superintendent or Headmaster. How do they request a MAAPP account?
A: The new Superintendent or Headmaster will need to request an account through the MAAPP login page.

Q: The Participation Agreement has expired. How do we renew the Participation Agreement?
A: Your Superintendent or Headmaster will need to log in to their MAAPP account and sign the agreement.

Q: I am a new counselor. How do I enter student grade information after gaining access to MAAPP?
A: Additional guidance on entering student grade information is available on our Submit Student Information Page

Q: I have a student showing on my MAAPP report multiple times. How do I correct this issue?
A: If the student appears on your report more than once, it’s due to the student having two different Social Security numbers in our system. We will need a copy of the student’s Social Security card in order to merge the accounts.

Q: I’m a high school counselor outside of the state of Mississippi. How do I submit high school grade information for my Mississippi students?
A: Please email a signed copy of the student’s transcript and ACT score report to sfa@mississippi.edu.
