The offices of the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning have experienced a network security incident. Services at the Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid have been impacted by this incident. No impact to any individual higher educational institution has been reported. External cybersecurity professionals have been engaged to determine what, if any, confidential or sensitive data may have been accessed or compromised. At this time, the investigation is in its earliest stage.

A break in enrollment would include any semester or trimester during which the student was awarded state aid and did not attend a Mississippi institution of higher learning. An exception to the break in enrollment is when the student graduates mid-year (December) from a community college and will not enroll in a four (4) year institution until the following fall semester.
