The Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid has returned to normal operations and full functionality following a network security incident. We are working to process all applications for student financial aid that have been submitted to us as well as any outstanding payments. The Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid (SFA) offers text messaging to provide applicants and recipients with information about Mississippi student financial aid.

Text Message Program

When you opt in to receive text messages from SFA, you will receive a message confirming your enrollment.

By opting in, you agree to receive text messages from SFA at the mobile phone number you provided. Messages may include information about your application status, eligibility, required documents, deadlines, awards, and other state financial aid matters.

Message frequency varies.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier and service plan. Contact your mobile carrier if you have questions about your text or data plan.

Mobile carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

Opting Out

You may stop receiving SFA text messages at any time by replying STOP or by using an unsubscribe link included in a message, if available.

After you opt out, you may receive a final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed.

Opting out of text messages does not affect your eligibility for state financial aid. You should continue to monitor your MAAPP Dashboard and other communications from SFA for important information regarding your application or account.

Changing Your Mobile Number

If your mobile number changes or is transferred to another person, you should opt out of SFA text messages from your previous number or notify SFA at sfa@mississippi.edu.

Changes to These Terms

SFA may modify or discontinue its text messaging program or update these SMS Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
